The Gold Coast is located just south of Brisbane and offers a variety of treats. Having been started as a farm by a German immigrant in the seventeenth century, the city has grown to tremendous size. Gold Coast is now one of the largest cities in the country.

Surfers Paradise is a suburb of Gold Coast. This beautiful beach town is frequently visited by tropical temperatures and is cooled by the ocean breeze. Countless miles of beach are the suburbs main attraction, and almost endless miles of rivers and tributaries make the city a site worth seeing.

Surfers Paradise offers a wide range of fun and exciting activities to do and things to see. The main attraction is the miles of beach that line the oceanfront. These beaches are vigorously traveled by tourists and residents alike. A strict beach management corps makes sure that the beaches are trash free and tourist friendly. These beaches are simply spotless and spectacular.

New skyscrapers are also springing up all over the town. These buildings are among the most modern and interesting buildings ever made. The skyline is a powerful image during the day and a breathtaking scene at night. These buildings are simply state of the art.

Surfers Paradise is also famous for its very large shopping district. This district is so popular that it is open seven days a week for late night shoppers. Consumers can enjoy shopping during the night and swimming and laying on the beach during the day.

There are also many restaurants that are open twenty four hours a day. These restaurants serve up some of the best Australian dishes and give tourists a taste of the Gold Coast cuisine. The food in these restaurants is always high class and made to order.

Not only can people enjoy a nightlife of shopping and eating, but they can also go clubbing. This long forgotten ritual of going to clubs at night will have people remembering their good old days. These clubs are all state of the art and modern, offering visitors the best experience they can have.

I have to say that I prefer the less built-up parts of the Queensland coast, and I skipped the Gold Coast as I was heading North! But this is an interesting Hub, and I may include Surfers in my itinerary if I hit that part of the coast again
