Discover Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast of Australia

Mooloolaba is located on the Sunshine Coast, which is in Queensland, Australia. It is just an hour north of Brisbane by car and serviced by Sunshine Coast Airport. There are many different styles of Mooloolaba accommodation that is available all year round to take advantage of one of the most beautiful beaches in Queensland.

The beach is the main attraction at Mooloolaba. It is a long curving stretch of white, sandy beach that has Alexandra Headland to the north and Point Cartwright to the south. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards from sun up to sun down all year round and it is a very safe beach for all the family.

Right on the beach there are playgrounds and parkland where you can enjoy casual barbecues with your loved ones while watching the waves wash up on the beach in front of you. There is a lookout there, which is fondly referred to by locals as the "Loo with a view" because it has public bathrooms underneath the lookout.

The beach is a major attraction, but there is lots of things to do there on top of beach going. At The Wharf shopping complex, there is Underwater World, which is a popular aquarium, where you can get up close and personal with turtles, sharks, seals and other marine life. The touching pool is interesting for kids and adults alike to see starfish and other small sea animals and touch them.

There is plenty of good shopping around Mooloolaba, which is quite a fashionable area. There are many boutique clothing stores, jewelery stores and homewares shops to spend time browsing through. There are several arcades off The Esplanade, which is the main road alongside the beach and many beach front shops too.

Along The Esplanade and nearby there are many different types of eating experiences to be had from casual cafes to exotic international meals and 24 hour kebab and pizza stalls. The choice that is available is virtually limitless and includes Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Himalayan, Italian, North African and many other choices. There are also many restaurants that offer delicious Australian fusion food while enjoying the alfresco dining.

Along the Esplanade and along Parkyn Parade are the main areas where you can find Mooloolaba accommodation. There are many resorts there that offer short term accommodation or longer term holiday rentals. Behind the Mooloolaba Surf Club, there is also a very popular caravan park for camping.
